My Herbal Journey

Herbalism has called to me my entire life, like a voice whispering, “Learn the wisdom of the past”.
When we first moved to our property, I remember being excited to discover the useful plants around our land.
There were blackcaps (aka black raspberries) all up and down our trails. I found serviceberries near a fence line, and after a little researching, I decided to give one a taste. The mulberries have become a summer staple, from eating them fresh, to making cobblers, jam, and even wine. As exciting as all these berries were to find, I knew that more of the plants around us just had to have a use also.
This led me to take a step off the shore of herbalism and dive deeper into my journey of connecting with Gd’s creation.
Every year since that initial one, (15 so far), I seem to find something I didn’t notice before, and always when I need it most.
I found the stinging nettle when I was pregnant and struggling with low iron. I found the purple dead nettle and the motherwort when perimenopause made herself more obvious. I found plantain when someone was stung. The catnip revealed itself to me when anxiety was getting the best of me. And so many more wonderful plants have greeted me over the years, offering their support.
As I began studying herbalism more and more through books and following the Chestnut School of Herbalism and the Herbal Academy, I decided to take the leap. In 2020, I found the courage to move forward with some courses. I wanted to understand more, and better, all that Gd was freely and abundantly offering me.
Here I am, 6 years later, and my passion, curiosity, and desire have only continued to grow. The more I learn, the more I understand that there is so much more to learn.
In these 15 years, though, the knowledge I have gained has brought plants into my everyday way of living. Incorporating them into foods, drinks, oils, and many other amazing ways.
I’ve used herbal sitz baths, to support healing after delivery of most of my babies. I’ve used teas during pregnancy, illnesses, and times of emotional and mental struggles, as well as in baths to help relieve poison ivy.
As my knowledge and skills expanded, I began sharing what I knew with the people in my life. Supporting them in a variety of ways.
Now, I’m ready to branch out and help more people than just the ones close to me. I’m here for you! You can book your in-person or virtual consultation today at https://aneccentrichousewifellc.janeapp.com/
